FLAME PARADE

Flame Parade nascono nell’estate 2012 quando Marco Zampoli, Mattia Calosci e Letizia Bonchi, imbracciati chitarre e violino, decidono di trasferirsi temporaneamente in una casa colonica nella campagna toscana per suonare, sperimentare e dedicarsi alla comune passione per la musica new folk. Le giornate trascorrono rapide tra ascolti condivisi, sperimentazioni musicali e un continuo via vai di amici, colleghi musicisti, filmmakers, scrittori, fotografi, che arricchiscono la già suggestiva atmosfera culturale del ‘ritiro’ del gruppo.
La band continua a evolversi e nel 2013 si aggiunge stabilmente al gruppo il batterista Niccolò Failli: sono finalmente pronti per progredire con il lavoro. Iniziano una crescente attività live e si dedicano alla registrazione delle prime tracce demo. Aiutati dall’orecchio esperto di Lorenzo Tommasini, registrano il loro primo singolo "As Above So Below" che contiene la traccia "Berlin". Proprio di quest’ultima, viene registrato un video clip, diretto da Pierfrancesco Bigazzi, che coinvolge molti degli artisti e degli amici che seguono il gruppo. Il video è ambientato proprio nei boschi intorno al casolare dove tutto è iniziato. 
Il singolo viene pubblicato dalla Materiali Sonori anche in formato 45 giri.
Nel frattempo, i Flame Parade partecipano al RockContest dell’emittente fiorentina Controradio, accedendo alle fasi finali del concorso. Nel contest Arezzo Wave, invece, riescono ad arrivare in finale regionale. La visibilità ottenuta permette ai Flame Parade di proseguire una sempre più intensa attività live che li porterà a esibirsi in contesti importanti, suonando in apertura dei concerti di artisti come Modena City Ramblers, L’Orso, Bobo Rondelli. Nel 2105 si esibiscono al MEI di Faenza, ottenendo un ottimo riscontro di pubblico. Nel 2016 si affermano nelle prime posizioni fra le band toscane sostenute dalla Regione nel progetto “100 band”.
Il 15 ottobre 2016 esce in tutto il mondo il loro primo album “A New Home”, prodotto da Alberto Mariotti (Samuel Katarro, King of the Opera) e dalla band, anticipato dal singolo della title tracks con il nuovo video di Pierfrancesco Bigazzi.

The story of Flame Parade begins in 2012 when Marco Zampoli, Mattia Calosci and Letizia Bonchi, armed with guitars and a violin, spent the summer in an ramshackle, out of the way Tuscan farmhouse to play and experiment with their music and explore their shared passion for new folk. The days passed quickly as they listened and played together and were visited by a continuous flow of friends, fellow musicians, filmmakers, writers and photographers who all contributed to the group’s cultural ‘retreat’.
The band evolved and in 2013 the original members were joined by the drummer, Niccolò Failli. As well as performing live the band began to record the first tracks of a demo. With the help of Lorenzo Tommasini they recorded their first single, As Above So Below which also includes Berlin - for this track they recorded a video clip, directed by Pierfrancesco Bigazzi, which features many of their friends and fellow artists. Filming for the video took place in the woods around the old farmhouse where everything began.
The single was released by Materiali Sonori and is also available in vinyl.
In the meantime, Flame Parade took part in the Controradio RockContest in Florence, making it to the competition’s final stages while at the Arezzo Wave music festival they got to the regional finals. As they became more widely known, the band was invited to open for established artists such as the Modena City Ramblers, L’Orso and Bobo Rondelli and take part in other important music contests. In 2105 they performed at the Independent Labels Meeting in Faenza, in front of an enthusiastic public. In 2016 Flame Parade’s contribution to music was recognised by the Tuscan Region which placed the group amongst the top bands in the “100 band” project.
On the 15th of October 2016 the group’s first album “A New Home” will be released internationally. It is produced by Alberto Mariotti (Samuel Katarro, King of the Opera) and the band. The album’s title tracks will be released in advance together with a new video by Pierfrancesco Bigazzi.
